February 21, 2010 Dear members, Thank you all of you for joining us this morning. It was very "cozy" this morning but I think that everybody had enough to eat and enjoyed company. Pictures will be on the website soon and I will inform you about Haiti donations as soon as I have some final figures. I sent you an e-mail yesterday informing you about a special event taken place on April 30th in Wexner Art Center. This is a gift for our children for Children's day and the registration deadline is February 28th. Similarly, we have another registration request with same deadline. As most of you know, I am a dentist and I work for College of Dentistry, OSU. We have a special project that will benefit children with ectodermal dysplasias. These children are commonly missing several, if not most, of their permanent teeth and the cost for treatment is quite a burden to these families. My colleague Dr. Lisa Knobloch together with a high school student is organizing the first annual 5K run/walk called "Miles for Smiles" where all of the proceeds will go into a treatment fund at The College of Dentistry. This fund will be available to patients with ectodermal dysplasias treated by students to help with treatment costs. The cost to organize the race has been covered through donations from local dentists allowing all race proceeds to go directly to this fund at the college. The College of Dentistry was recently named a treatment center by The National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias making OSU one of only eight centers in USA. I will be supporting this great cause by walking 5K (I cannot run) on saturday March 13th at Thompson Park in Upper Arlington at 9AM. I like to register as a group from TAACO if you like to join me. The cost to participate is only $20 per person and related information is attached. Please let me know if you like to join me for a walk. Again the registration deadline is February 28th. Sincerely, Dr. Binnaz Leblebicioglu TAACO, President
